Make Each Day Count – Cross Stitch Pattern by Ellen Chester
The lovely verse, Count the day lost whose low descending sun views from thy hand no worthy act done, came from an old sampler. It is a sentiment we should all try to follow.
The model for this sampler was stitched on 32-count Black linen from Zweigart, Inc. and uses overdyed threads from Gloriana and The Thread Gatherer. DMC substitutions are provided for the overdyed silk threads
Stitch count: 251 wide x 111 high
Stitches used: cross stitch, backstitch, closed herringbone, colonial knot, cross stitch over one linen thread, half cross stitch, smyrna cross, tent, and vertical closed herringbone stitch. If desired, cross stitch can be substituted for many of these stitches.
Stitch diagrams are provided.
